Our mission is to advance nursing education, research, leadership, and professional collaboration in the food allergy subspecialty.
We aim to improve patient outcomes and quality of life by cultivating a food allergy-informed nursing workforce, collaborating on developing alternative care models that leverage technology to meet the needs of impacted
populations, and translating evidence-based practices into care.

Our Story
FANA is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. It was initially founded in 2019 as Food Allergy Nurses Interest Group (FANI) and was incorporated as a nonprofit in 2024.
We value the unique contributions of nurses and nurses' voices as an integral component of interdisciplinary food allergy management, education, leadership, research and scholarship. ​

Food Allergy Nursing Association Scientific Advisory Board
The Scientific Advisory Board brings expertise in nursing, medicine, nutrition science, psychology, and research to the scientific and educational work of the Food Allergy Nursing Association. Its members review the evidence base underlying the association's relevant materials and advise on its research agenda and ongoing initiatives, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of food allergy care within a nurse-led organization. The Board serves in an advisory capacity. Governance authority remains with the FANA Board of Directors.
